Releases
Every fix and improvement that has gone into the app, version by version. The bigger features each have a page of their own under Features.
1.1.0
A missed week no longer expires — the make-up rolls forward until you clear it.
New
- A missed week stays saveable for longer: the shortfall carries forward until a later week clears it, saving every held week at once. Beating your normal target but not the raised one keeps the streak alive and rolls the remainder on.
Improved
- A dropped heart rate subscription recovers on the connection that is already open, instead of leaving the app showing connected with no readings arriving.
Fixed
- Calorie figures show on the session summary again.
- Starting a session could crash if Bluetooth permission had been revoked since it was last granted.
- The first-run permission prompts could drop a result and leave the app waiting.
1.0.10
Improved
- The week arc draws points past your target as an extra zone, so a week that beats its target shows the surplus rather than sitting at full.
- The arc's current-day dot is dark enough to read against both the scored fill and the track behind it.
- The Health Connect import countdown only counts down, instead of jumping back and forth as it moved between the apps in your history.
Fixed
- Cancelling on the connecting screen destroyed a restored session with no way back. A session recovered after the phone was killed can now be saved from there.
- Opening a past session from history never showed how it ended, so a run cut short by a dead strap looked the same as one you stopped yourself.
- Voice alerts could crash the app when text-to-speech failed to start up.
1.0.9
New
- A home card inviting a feature request, so you can ask for something without leaving the app.
Improved
- The rate graph changes colour exactly where you cross a zone boundary, instead of at the nearest recorded reading.
- The rate graph redraws faster, holding on to its zone shapes rather than rebuilding them every frame.
- Zone alert settings moved onto the monitor settings screen, with the rest of the monitor's options.
- Dates outside the current year now show the year.
- Evened out the gaps in the zone meter, on the session summary and in history.
- The Health Connect introduction names ZonePoints rather than describing it generically.
Fixed
- Finishing a session could crash if its backup had already been cleaned up.
1.0.8
New
- The home week arc carries a tick once you pass your target, turning blue when you have also covered a streak save.
Improved
- Retuned the colours of the arc's extra zone, and evened out the seam where it meets the normal zone.
- The session summary's comparison row names the metric it is comparing.
Fixed
- The imported points card could disappear after a Health Connect sync.
- A session's stored readings could be read back before the write had landed.
1.0.7
New
- The animated Bluetooth icon now shows on the monitor screen while a sensor is connecting.
- A link to the ZonePoints site in the app drawer.
Improved
- A brief strap dropout no longer costs you the session: gaps of up to five minutes are credited, and a session ends at its last reading rather than at the disconnect.
- Longer disconnected stretches are no longer counted as training time or scored.
- Help cards expand into their overlay from the card itself, and open and close faster.
- The help overlay's close button has a larger tap target.
- Saved weeks get a blue tick in the history timeline, and the week arc's carry-over zone uses the same blue as the History card.
- The week arc's day marker is a neutral colour, so it no longer competes with the zone colours.
Fixed
- The week card's progress bar overlapped its percentage label above 100%.
- The monitor's controls slider could crash in a cramped layout.
- The review prompt's close button and its animation.
- Corrected the sensor help text.
1.0.6
Improved
- The raised target for saving a missed week now shows from the start of the week, rather than appearing only after that week's first session.
Fixed
- The rate graph left a gap after a disconnect on the session summary.
- The privacy link in the app opened the wrong page.
- A crash on very narrow list rows.
1.0.5
Fixed
- The week progress bar did not match the percentage shown beside it.
- Help cards snapped open instead of animating.
1.0.4
New
- Imported sessions now feed your detected maximum and resting heart rate.
- The activity type is remembered per Health Connect source, so each app you import from keeps its own default.
Improved
- The Health Connect settings row shows the period it syncs.
- The resting rate setting says when your chosen calculation method does not use it, rather than just appearing disabled.
Fixed
- A crash when the collapsing top bar was squeezed to no height at all.
- A crash when a session file was removed while it was being read.
- A crash in the permission flow when the screen was torn down mid-request.
- Phantom padding above the alert on the monitor screen.
1.0.3
New
- Tapping the Start tab a second time explains what the tab does.
Improved
- The day screen opens whenever a day holds more than one session, not only when they overlap.
- The summary's rate graph is clipped to the training window, so it no longer stretches across time you were not training.
- The Health Connect sync indicator moved to the card's title.
Fixed
- Bluetooth 4.x straps could not connect. ZonePoints now asks for the 1M radio mode instead of the coded one, which older sensors do not support.
- A crash when tapping a day that had scored no points.
- A crash when the graph tile was given no readings.
1.0.2
Improved
- The Info screen is now called How the app works, and carries a description and a suggestion card.
- A rescued week's label and the amount it beat its target by are measured against the base target.
Fixed
- Help card titles shifted as the card expanded.
- The unfilled part of the week bar's extra zone was missing its separating gap.
1.0.1
New
- An Info Articles screen in the drawer, collecting the in-app guides in one place.
- Sensor battery shows while a strap is still connecting, and a strap with no battery service is now distinguished from one that has not reported yet.
Improved
- The history card sits higher on the home screen.
- The connecting rows on the monitor screen use lighter cards.
- The zone points target track is split into segments with a card-coloured gap.
1.0.0
Version 1.0: the save mechanic finished and switchable, plus a pass over the week bars, the settings copy and the home cards.
New
- Streak saving can be turned off, under Settings then Target, if you would rather a missed week always broke the streak.
- The week that rescued a missed one says so, with the amount it beat its target by.
- A sensor help card and a recommended sensors button on the scan screen.
- Home cards appear when a detected heart rate goes above your maximum or below your resting setting, so a wrong setting is visible instead of quietly skewing your zones.
Improved
- A missed week can only be saved if you scored at least half your target.
- History weeks regroup when you change which day your week starts on.
- Week progress bars got rounded caps, the over-target zone on every week, and a bar that reaches the end when you beat your target.
- Settings descriptions say what the setting does rather than repeating its current value.
- Peak rate's zone speed is labelled Peak zone speed.
- The in-app guides were rewritten throughout, with references.
Fixed
- A progress bar's rounded cap bled past the end of the fill, and a rescue week's track could be invisible.
0.9.9
New
- A week waiting to be saved is marked with a question mark on the streak timeline, so a run that is still alive looks different from a broken one.
- A feedback link at the foot of every in-app guide.
Improved
- Leaving the post-session summary returns you to Home.
- The connection and battery rows on the monitor screen read as proper list rows.
- The grant permission button is disabled rather than hidden once tapped, so the screen no longer jumps.
- Zone time percentages line up in a column on the summary.
- Dropped the heart age idea from the maximum rate guide, and corrected the guides throughout.
Fixed
- Padding on the save status text in the history timeline.
- Reanalysing sessions no longer stumbles on a session with no stored readings.
- A session's backup could fail to write if the session finished at the same moment.
0.9.8
Save a missed week, and a training week that starts on the day you choose.
New
- Save a missed week: fall short of your target and the week is held open for a later week to make up.
- Choose which day your training week starts on.
- A weight unit toggle, and separate controls for theme and sex.
- A Why measure effort guide, plus collapsible sections and references across the guides.
Improved
- Your target locks in for the current week. A change takes effect from your next start of week, so a streak cannot be kept alive by lowering the bar mid week.
- The in-app guides are drawn natively instead of in a web view: faster to open, with no white flash.
- The Health Connect sync screen was reworked, with proper selection screens for the sync period and the minimum zone points.
- The day screen leads with zone points and shows training time as a percentage.
- The rate picker shows the zone number beside the percentage of heart rate reserve and of maximum.
- A day's sessions are sorted by start time.
- The target screens use zp for zone points.
Fixed
- The keyboard covered the target zone points box.
- A crash restoring a backup whose readings file was missing.
- A crash returning to a settings screen from the back stack.
0.9.7

- The imported sessions notification clears when you next open the app.
Fixed
- A crash restoring the app from the back stack.

Removed
- Calories burned came off the session summary while the estimates were reworked. It returns in the next release.

- Overlapping Fitbit sessions are merged when importing from Health Connect.
Fixed
- The Health Connect grant button showed even after permission had been given.
- See all weeks opened the wrong tab.
0.9.5
New

- History has a timeline down its right side, showing where your streak held and where it broke.
Improved
- A day's summary shows the icon of the session that scored the most.
- Outlined icons across navigation and cards.
Fixed
- A deleted session stayed visible and could crash the history card.
- The history timeline drew its connecting line wrongly around the boundary between a met and an unmet week.
- The Health Connect introduction's button was hidden behind the navigation bar.
- A leak that kept a screen alive for the rest of the app's run.
- A white flash when opening a guide.
0.9.4
A guided first launch, and sessions kept on your own device.
New
- A first launch setup wizard covering your zone thresholds, your weekly target, your sensor and Health Connect.
- A Finish setup card for existing users, with a short what's new introduction.
Improved
- Sessions are stored in files on your device rather than in the cloud, so history opens without waiting on the network and works offline.
- Health Connect resyncs every time you return to the app, and the apps that write to it are detected in the background.
- The summary and day screens show the full recorded zone points, with the effective row shown when sessions overlap.
- Zone colours were retuned, and the meter shows zone numbers.
- The summary graph has axis and time labels.

- Overlapping Health Connect records could crash an import, and sessions that continue one another are now merged.
- The imported sessions notification named the wrong app.
- A crash on a settings list row.
- The keyboard behaved inconsistently across the wizard.
0.9.3
Improved
- The home arc is flatter and reaches the edges of its card, and its score counts up again each time you come back to it.
- Streak cards open history scrolled to that streak's most recent week.
- The imported sessions card shows once per app session rather than on every visit.
Fixed
- The app could freeze on startup while setting up its cloud connection.
- Dragging a monitor tile could leave three of them in a row.
0.9.2
New
- The week progress card appears immediately, with its score counting up.
Improved
- Colour corrections across the palette, and spacing on the day summary and monitor screens.
- The discard dialog explains why a session scored no points.

- A flame on the current streak.
Improved

- The week header on Home is tappable.
Fixed
- Settings could be duplicated while upgrading.
- The home screen laid out wrongly after deleting a session.
