What to expect

ZonePoints translated properly, every screen, and the spoken zone alerts along with them, so the app talks to you mid-session in the language you think in.

The app follows your phone's language setting, so there's nothing to configure.

Which languages come first

Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Russian, Korean, Italian and Dutch. Those are the languages most of the people already using ZonePoints speak, so they're where the translation starts.

Not just the app

This website and the written guides get translated too, in the same batch of languages.

There isn't much point in an app that speaks your language sitting behind a site that doesn't, and the guides are where the reasoning behind zone points lives. Reading why zone 2 matters in your own language is worth more than reading a settings screen in it.

Translated by machine, corrected by you

The first pass is machine translation, and we'd rather say so plainly than let you find out.

It's the only way one small team covers eight languages and keeps covering them as the app changes. It also means some of it will be wrong, and the failures won't be evenly spread: everyday screens tend to come out fine, while terms of art like zone points, heart rate reserve and streak save are exactly what a translator mangles. Spoken alerts carry their own risk, because a phrase that reads correctly can still sound stilted or land on the wrong syllable at 170 beats per minute.

So we'd rather ship a good translation you can correct than an English-only app while we wait for a perfect one.

Please tell us what's wrong. If a screen reads oddly, a term is off, or an alert sounds unnatural when spoken aloud, send it to feedback@vercer.com with the language and roughly where you saw it. Corrections from people who actually train in the language are worth more than any amount of review on our side, and they go into the next release.

Why we're building it

Most of the people using ZonePoints aren't in English-speaking countries, and an English-only app quietly asks them to translate while they train. That's a small tax on a settings screen and a much larger one on a voice alert you have to parse mid-session.
